Sixfold
The creator of Sixfold had an idea to revolutionize the online literary world by shifting the discovery process from unseen editors to writers themselves. "Everyone's equally weighted vote selects what's published, instead of one judge, or one or a few editors. With a fair, transparent, rule-based voting process, all writers find the best writing together." Colossal Ventures made the idea a reality by building a custom algorithm that continuously calculates scores, assigns documents to voters, and determines the final winners of each issue. The website now has nearly 12000 active users that have praised the intuitive interface, the community commenting features, and the transparency and breadth of the voting records.
Higher Visibility
Higher Visibility is a professional SEO and search marketing firm that's been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Inc., among other publications. To keep up with rising demand for its services, the company needed backend tools to collect and assemble large amounts of dynamic data on current and prospective clients. Colossal Ventures was able to meet this challenge by creating a proprietary system that would reach out to myriad APIs, scrape website content, and perform initial SEO assessments on a vast scale. VTI Vision
Visioneering Technologies, Inc. competes in the hyper-competitive $12 billion contact lens market. The company offers revolutionary new products and needs to be sure that eye care practitioners are using their lenses properly. To assist in this effort, Colossal Ventures created a suite of web-based and mobile tools to collect patient vision information, run them through proprietary formulas, and output prescription information. The new tools are helping improve patient success, practitioner adoption, and company profits at the same time.
NaturalVue Fit5
The revolutionary NaturalVue Multifocal lens from Visioneering Technologies, Inc. needed a strong marketing effort to drive sales. The NaturalVue Fit5 Fitting Success Program was a key component of this effort. Colossal Ventures helped develop the database and web application that links VTI reps, eye care practitioners, and patients. The system is rounded out by robust backend reporting tools for company administrators to analyze trends and maximize product adoption.
New Haven Code
Gateway Community College in New Haven, CT is spearheading a number of new initiatives to match their students with the skills needed to compete in the job market of the 2020s. Colossal Ventures not only created their web presence but also assisted in developing the curriculum for Gateway's web development certificate program.
KMD Engineering
As a full service engineering consultancy, KMD Engineering needed a simple website that conveys the breadth of their expertise. The priority of the firm was to convert eyeballs to phone calls. The task for Colossal Ventures was very clear in this regard - show what KMD can do and how to reach the company.
You World Tree
You World Tree had come up with the revolutionary method of visually navigating your family tree and allowing you to connect with your relatives like never before. Colossal Ventures was called upon to take the new concept and turn it into reality by creating a complex user and content management system that employed sophisticated data relations and data ownership rules. A custom photo cropping system was then developed to enable the unique Living Picture Tree interface that lies at the heart of the application. The website has since seen over 1500 family trees created and generated a following of devoted fans.
Compete Now
CompeteNow is a whole new way to challenge yourself while achieving your fitness goals. The breakout social network allows competitors to log their results in a wide variety of events, track their progress in real time, and compare their personal bests to athletes from around the world. Users are able to group themselves by location, age, gender, or real-life interest groups while relying on CompeteNow to do the hard work of crunching their thousands of data points. Colossal Ventures was selected to build this innovative concept from the ground up - developing the site into its current beta form and working with the entrepreneurs behind the idea as they continue to build out the feature set for the excited early adopters.
